Research

I started by looking at other galleries websites to get a feel for how mine should look. I looked at galleries in and around Hull and below are a few examples of the ones I looked at.

This site as a white background with the title in white text inside black boxes. The navigation is down the left hand side also in white text inside black boxes. In the centre of the page is an image of the gallery. Underneath this image is the content text which is coloured in grey. The artists work is displayed in a slideshow on the artwork page.

Red Gallery in Hull http://www.red-gallery.com

This site is also on a white background with black, red and grey text. Unlike the Art Box site this site does not have a slideshow displaying the artists work it just uses static images.

Liquid Amber Gallery in York http://www.liquidamberartgallery.co.uk

Unlike the first two galleries I looked at this site draws you in with it's use of sliders and images. It makes you want to look deeper into this site. It has one large slideshow of images at the top of the page and one small slideshow of images next to the featured artists names. This site also has a white background but it is layed out better than the other two sites.

From my research I have come to the decision that I would like to have a slideshow of images on my site.
